Little Village Mexican Independence Day Parade
September 11, 2024
The annual Mexican Independence Day Parade kicks off at noon on Sunday, September 15, 2024, marking the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. This year’s theme, "Celebrando Nuestras Tradiciones," will showcase Mexican cultural traditions, from quinceañeras and folkloric dance to charrería.
“We are excited to announce the 53rd parade theme,” said Jennifer Aguilar, Executive Director of the Little Village Chamber of Commerce. “Safety is a priority, and we encourage everyone to explore the local businesses on 26th Street after the event.”
Starting at the historic Little Village Arch at 26th Street and Albany Avenue, the parade will proceed down 26th Street to Kostner Avenue, featuring vibrant floats, mariachi bands, and folkloric dancers. Drawing over 400,000 attendees, it’s one of the largest parades in the Midwest.
