The Wizarding World Arrives: Harry Potter Shop Opens on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile
April 13, 2025
A massive new Harry Potter-themed flagship store has officially opened in downtown Chicago, bringing magic to the Magnificent Mile.
Located at 676 N. Michigan Avenue, beneath the Omni Hotel, the store began welcoming fans on April 10, 2025, marking the second standalone Harry Potter shop in the U.S. after New York City.
At 12,300 square feet, the immersive retail destination is themed around Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and includes interactive experiences, exclusive merchandise, and the largest Butterbeer Bar in the country.
Styled like a Prohibition-era speakeasy, the bar serves the iconic wizarding beverage alongside Chicago-only snacks like Butterscotch Popcorn.
The shop features highly detailed décor—from a moving stained-glass mermaid window to suspended broomsticks and a glowing Goblet of Fire centerpiece.
Fans can explore themed areas inspired by Honeydukes, the Room of Wands, and other magical locations from the series.
Shoppers will also find Chicago-exclusive merchandise, including plush bears, spirit jerseys, mugs, and tote bags. Classic items like wands, robes, and personalized Hogwarts acceptance letters are also available.
The Harry Potter Shop is expected to become a major draw for tourists and locals alike, offering a magical new reason to visit the city’s iconic shopping district.
