One Armed Chef Turns Tragedy into Triumph | Chicago Inspirational Story

December 14, 2025

My name is Mike Krohn, and I’m a home chef and creator of Healthy2HogWildFood. My journey in the kitchen is different than most. Life threw some huge challenges my way, but instead of giving up, I found a way to turn those obstacles into something creative and delicious.

For me, cooking isn’t just about food—it’s therapy. It’s a way for me to focus, push through tough times, and create something that makes people happy. Over the years, I’ve experimented with flavors, especially blending barbecue with Italian dishes and created what I like to call BBQ Italian Fusion. Healthy2HogWildFood is the result of passion—a place where I can show that even after setbacks, you can still create recipes and food to be proud of.

Every dish I make tells a story about determination and resilience. I want people to see that even when life knocks you down, you can get back up, keep going and don’t quit. Sharing my story has opened doors I never imagined, from media appearances to collaborations. It’s given me a chance to connect with people who care about more than just the food—they care me about my journey and I can’t begin to describe how much that means.

My recent video shows this journey. It’s not just a highlight reel—it’s the ups and downs, the hard work, and the joy of creating something from nothing. I’m proud to share my story and hope it inspires others to keep going, embrace challenges, and turn their own dreams into something meaningful.

Stick around because I’m just getting started! Please follow and share this story, because someone might need to hear it today.
