Chicago Bears Commit to Arlington Heights Stadium, Targeting Super Bowl Bid

September 11, 2025

The Chicago Bears are moving forward with plans to build a state-of-the-art stadium in Arlington Heights, a project set to reshape the team’s future and potentially bring the Super Bowl to Illinois as early as 2031.

Unlike past stadium debates, the Bears say construction will be funded without state money. Instead, the focus is on partnerships with leaders across government, business, and labor to secure stable property taxes and invest in infrastructure around the site.

The numbers are big: more than 56,000 construction jobs, 9,000 permanent jobs, $10 billion in statewide economic impact during the build, and $256 million each year in new business and tourism once the doors open.

The design calls for a fixed-roof stadium, opening the door for Chicago-area fans to experience world-class events year-round. Beyond Bears games, the venue is planned for Super Bowls, NCAA Final Fours, global soccer matches, concerts, and community activities. Arlington Heights also provides easier access for many fans, with direct Metra service, expanded parking, and dedicated tailgating space.

For a team that has called Soldier Field home for decades, this move marks a turning point. With over half of season ticket holders already living within 25 miles of Arlington Heights, the new stadium is positioned to become a central hub for Bears fans across the region.
